Just in time for Lent!!
Justina put together the next in our meditative series of the Rosary: The Sorrowful Mysteries.
Meditative in nature, this series is meant to feel like one is sitting outside among our Father's creation, reflecting deeply upon these contemplative mysteries. With alternating young and adult voices, this series is a beautiful experience for families as well as the single soul.
This series also features the corresponding virtue for each mystery as well as a guiding reflection.
We pray that this beautiful meditation enhances your prayer time this Lent!
We never dreamed that our first collab with another Catholic YouTuber would be so much fun!! Earlier this week we got together with Kenzie at "The Overnight Mom" and filmed two videos...one for her channel and one for ours. It was a blessed experience and we can hardly wait to do it again.
Our Lent for the Family video discusses ideas of possible activities that families can do for Lent (imagine that!). We truly hope you join in on this discussion as we present some old and new ideas to keep our families on track during Lent.
Then, visit Kenzie at her channel: www.youtube.com/channel/UCmnDzXZZmudVezNK4M3vTlQ/videos
for our collab with her and other more awesome videos for moms!
Okay...so this may seem like a strange one, but it certainly is a unique way of showing that we have to discern our Lenten sacrifices carefully! :) Loosely based on popular bulletin mistakes, this video should bring home the idea to prayerfully plan for Lent, or the consequences could be "enlightening!"
I hope you are having a blessed Lent!
It's Ash Wednesday!! How do you feel now that Lent is here?
Personally, I have been actually looking forward to this time of repentence and sacrifice. Lent is one of the few times a year that I find I am able to respond to the outpouring of His grace enough to be able to die to myself more often and follow a stricter code of discipline. By the time Easter arrives, I am a better version of myself. I am happier, calmer, healthier, and closer to my Lord.
Knowing this, it never ceases to amaze me how quickly I then tend to lose that better version as Ordinary Time takes over. It has honestly become a perplexing mystery to me.
Frequent reflection on pondering this mystery has brought some things to light, however, and one of them is this: God's grace mixed with the wisdom of the Church is basically a superpower. It's not a deep statement, I know. But, in my opinion, it is more than just a "fun" statement...it is fact. The saints ackowledged and demonstrated this superpower daily. Their outstanding examples reveal a superpower that is available to us at all times, not just during Lent. Still, it seems that many of us tend to find it easier to access it during this period dedicated to repentance and sacrifice.
I pray that this Lent we all tap into this superpower! Let's follow the Church's guidance for Lent and mix it with a heaping waterfall-full of grace and see what happens!
The kids will be attempting to do this in one way by participating in #vLent this year...take a look and see what the Lenten future holds for the channel!
Let the Lenten journey begin! :)
