Well, my sister gave our family this great idea: a working DIY gumball machine!
It's perfect for Fat Tuesday and St. Valentine's Day. She did this project with her boys and it looked so neat that she highly encouraged us to put it onto the blog. You do need an older sibling or parent to help with it, but it's worth the effort.
Here is the cool part for parents: It uses some recyclables around the house. And here's the cool part for the kids: it really works! My son could actually care less about eating the candy…he just loves releasing it and watching it fall into the "lip" below.
We did a pretty simple version of this craft, but feel free to jazz it up to make it sturdier and more "professional" looking.
